The separate sewerage system was applied to Pingdingshan city. There was a wastewater treatment plant named the First Sewage Treatment Plant and a sewage pumping station named the First Sewage Pumping Station in Pingdingshan city. The Second Wastewater Treatment Plant with the recent project in 2012 and the long-term project for the year 2020 should be build according to drainage system of Pingdingshan city's overall development plan and adjustment.The range of engineering services was for the Horse Avenue and South of the Zhan Nan Road, East of the Guangming Road, North of the South Third Ring Road,West of Horse Road, and the service area was about 29.6 km2. The wastewater collection scope of the Second Wastewater Treatment Plant was planned into Tiedong District and Tiexi District, and the recent service area was about 14.6 km2. Tiedong District nearby the Second Wastewater Treatment Plant and in the Lower Sha River was planned for the high-tech industrial park including light pollution and pollution-free high-tech enterprises. Tiexi District nearby the old urban district and in the Upper Sha River was planned for commercial and residential zone.According to the current situation of the drainage project in Pingdingshan city,the recent planning capacity is 400,000 tons of sewage per day and the long-term planning capacity is 600,000 tons of sewage per day. The treatment capacity of the First Sewage Treatment Plant was designed 250,000 tons of sewage per day. The first phase of the project with a daily treatment capacity of 250,000 tons was completed in December 2000, and the effluent was discharged into Zhan River. The second phase of the project with a daily treatment capacity of 100,000 tons was finished by the end of 2005 and had been operating at full capacity. The recent and long-term planning capacity are respectinely 50,000 tons of sewage per day.According to the related rules and environmental protection requirements of Pingdingshan city, the effluent quality requirements should meet the highest discharge standard of pollutants for municipal wastewater treatment plants a standard, and the oxidation ditch wastewater treatment technology could be applied to the sewage treatment plant.
