On The Realization Of Corporate Environmental Responsibility

Corporate environmental responsibility means that enterprises shall carry out the social responsibility of protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development while pursuing the maximum economic profit and achievi ng benefits of shareholders.After the reform,enterprises have developed rapidly,and promoted social and economic prosperity, but also caused a series of environmental problems.With the continuous deterioration of the environment and the frequent occurrence of environmental pollution accidents,corporate responsibility in environmental protection have become an increasing concern in society.Therefore, the realization of corporate environmental responsibility has thus become a new issue in the study of legal t heory. But now, the relevant legal system of China's enterprises to achieve environmental responsibility is imperfect, the government incentive implementation mechanism is not sound, as well as the social supervision and participation mechanism,and enterpr ise itself lacks self-discipline seriously.This paper studies the corporate environmental responsibility thoroughly, introduces its origin, summarizes its essential meaning,describes the theoretical basis of corporate environmental responsibility,analyzes the practical difficulties to achieve corporate environmental responsibility,and stated its problems and causes.Furthermore, this paper uses the corporate environmental liability systems in the United States, Germany and Japan for reference and proposes t he Chinese way to achieve corporate environmental responsibility from four perspectives including legislation, government, social mechanisms and enterprise itself. These adjustment mechanisms shall be used synthetically in order to attain complementary advantages, promote the achievement of corporate environmental responsibility and facilitate the cyclic and sustainable development of our country's economy.
