This paper aimed at the problem of difficulte to support the mine roadway under high stress broken rock conditions and high maintenance costs, discuss the deformation and failure mechanism of the high stress broken surrounding rock, basic supporting theory and supporting system; and then use laboratory test and field test to comparison analysis the supporting effect of two kinds of metal mesh(steel fabric and TECCO net)which take jinchuan nickel mine as the research background. Through the theoretical analysis to draw the following conclusions: the fatigue strength of the metal net and ultimate bearing capacity became stronger as its diameter became bigger; The bearing capacity of TECCO net is 6.69 times than the bearing capacity of steel fabric.Laboratory test results show that both point of weld and steel mesh connection position have low bearing capacity, and the connection position is the weak links to steel fabric;the surface protecting force of bolt + TECCO net + shotcrete is 64.3% higher than the surface protecting force of bolt + steel fabric + shotcrete, the absorption and transfer load ability of TECCO net was stronger than steel fabric. Field test results show that the roadway of bolt + steel fabric + shotcrete still in a state of continuous deformation in the three months later when roadway supporting completed, but the roadway deformation of bolt + TECCO net + shotcrete tended to be stable in the two months later when roadway supporting completed, and it's deformation and deformation rate were smaller and more moderate than the deformation and deformation rate of bolt + steel fabric + shotcrete supported. In a word, the supporting effect of bolt + TECCO net + shotcrete was better than the bolt + steel fabric + shotcrete and more conducive to mining safety, high efficiency and low cost of production.
