TiO2 has been widely applied in photocatalytic research field because of its high catalytic activity, non-toxicity, high physical and chemical stability and easy availability. But its wide band gap ?3.2eV for the anatase? results its inactivity in the visible light region, which limits its practical applications greatly. In this paper, we used nano titanium dioxide as substrate, employed two kinds of complexes of [Fe? ?dcbpy?3] and [Fe? ?dcbpy??phen?2] act as visible-light photosensitizer to sensitize TiO2 respectively. The results indicated that photocatalyst of [Fe ? ?dcbpy?3]/TiO2 and [Fe? ?dcbpy??phen?2]/TiO2 has highly visible light catalytic activity. The main work is as follows:1. [Fe? ?dcbpy?3] and [Fe? ?dcbpy??phen?2] complex has been synthesized through a simple mixing method. The ultraviolet-visible absorption spectra of these two kinds of complexes under different pH are investigated.2. [Fe? ?dcbpy?3]/TiO2 and [Fe " ?dcbpy??phen?2]/TiO2 nano composite catalyst were prepared via hydrothermal method. XRD?SEM?TEM?UV-Vis-DRS?XPS were used to characterize these two nano composite catalyst.3. The photocatalytic degradation of phenol was researched by using [Fe??dcbpy?3]/TiO2 and [Fe? ?dcbpy??phen?2]/TiO2 photocatalyst under 300W xenon lamp irradiation. The effects of the amounts of [Fe? ?dcbpy?3] and [Fe??dcbpy??phen?2], hydrothermal time and hydrothermal temperature were investigated to determine the optimum hydrothermal synthesis conditions.4. The photocatalytic activity and stability of these two kinds of nanocomposite catalyst were compared. The possible sensitization mechanism was proposed.
