Fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite(FRTP) is widely used because of its excellent performance. We can obtain excellent performance composite through combining glass fiber with MC nylon, which is of good performance. However, the polymerization temperature, the amount of catalyst and activator and other factors have a greater influence on the synthesis of MC nylon, and the status and length of reinforcing fibers have great impact on the final properties of the composites. Therefore, this paper mainly focus on optimizatiing the synthesis of MC nylon toughening MC nylon and reinforcing MC nylon.The molecular weight of MC nylon increased as the polymerization temperature rised from 140? to 170?, and the catalyst, sodium hydroxide, had little effect on the molecular weight of MC nylon. With the increase of the added amount of activator TDI, the molecular weight of MC nylon decreased. The mechanical performance of MC nylon was closely related to the molecular weight, and the crystallization had great influence on the mechanical properties. There was little difference between the MC nylons, but the thermal stability of MC nylon is worse than thermal stability of industrial nylon.The copolymer between caprolactam and laurolactam did not change the crystal structure of MC nylon, but the crystallinity of the copolymer reduced when laurolactam added amount was increased. Compared with MC nylon, the melting temperature and crystallization temperature of PA6/12 copolymer decreased by 35.4? and 51.1?. When the added amount of laurolactam increased from 0% to 30%, the elongation at break of PA6/12 copolymer had an increase from 60% to 325%, and the bending strength reduced from 65.18 MPa to 28.00 MPa. Nanofibrous material with diameter of about 100 nm and length of about 1 ?m was observed in the tensile fracture of the copolymer.We used glass fiber as the reinforced material of MC nylon composite. With the increase of the volume of the glass fiber cloth, the tensile strength, tensile modulus, flexural strength and flexural modulus of MC nylon composites increased to some extent; When the length of the glass fiber is 4cm and the content of glass fiber is 32.2%, the tensile strength of MC nylon composite increased by 129.5% than the tensile strength of the MC nylon, and the bending strength of MC nylon composite increased by 305.6% than the bending strength of MC nylon; The MC nylon composites reinforced by short glass fiber had no significant deformation, However, these glass fibers is of poor dispersibility in the matrix.
