Phyllostachys heterocycla is a piece of bamboo that has the most important economic value and the longest history.Phyllostachys heterocycla in China counts the largest percentage of bamboo forest about 70%,which is a piece of bamboo used in materials.There will be a lot of residuums caused by the low use ratio of bamboo wood in the process of production.So the point of research now is the comprehensive utilization of bamboo timber processing residue resources.In this paper,the outer of bamboo which is produced in the process of flattening bamboo is used to be the material,extracted by 95% ethanol,separated by chromatography and analyzed by spectrum to separate and identify the chemical structures of the main secondary metabolites in the outer bamboo,assessing its antioxidant activity and providing the evidence of the exploitation of bamboo.The results of the experiment show:The outer of bamboo is extracted by 95% ethonal,the extractive is extracted by petroleum ether to remove chlorophyll,then use AB-8 macroporous resin column chromatography,respectively,with 20% ethanol,40% ethanol,60% ethanol,80% e thanol different fraction gradient to get the components of elution,then use Sephad ex lH-20 column chromatography,Waters 2695-2996 high performance liquid chrom atography,HPLC with high-pressure preparation,separate and purify again and agai n to get 8 compounds.Determined by NMRS,they are: Polystachyol;1,2-Diguaiacyl-1,3propanediol;Guaiacylglycerol;Syringylglycerol;Propiophenone;2,3-Dihydroxy-1-(4-hy droxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-1-propanone;4-Hydroxy-(3-hydroxypropionyl)benzene;1,2,3-Propanetriol.2.Assessing the antioxidant activity of 5 components separated from the outer bamboo,the results show that the extracted compounds have radical scavenging effect.The range of eliminating organic radical DPPH IC50 values in 59.44 ~ 139.33 mg / L,the1,2-Diguaiacyl-1,3propanediol has the best activity,IC50 is 59.44 mg/L,the positive control TBHQ is 51.25 mg / L.The range of eliminating superoxide anion radical IC50 values in 251.84 ~ 421.76 mg / L,the Polystachyol has the best activity,IC50 is 114.78mg/L,the positive control TBHQ was 114.78 mg / L.The results of the article show that there are 8 components in Phyllostachys heterocycla outer bamboo.These secondary metabolites have definite antioxidant activity,which certainly has a reference value for the high value-added utilization of the residuums in Phyllostachys heterocycla.
