The application of sulfone compounds is very extensive,sulfones feature in a myriad of applications ranging from active ingredients in pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, to key intermediates in complex chemical syntheses, to speciality materials and food additives. The broad spectrum biological activity of sulfone compounds has attracted considerable attention,especially in incorporating the sulfone moiety into many different chemical structures to generate compound series with broad spectrum bioactivity. Thus, sulfone compounds play an increasingly important role in the development of highly effective pesticides.In this article, the four aspects of the classification of the application research of sulfone compounds is medicine, pesticide, material, chemical industry, this paper expounds the application of different sulfone compounds. Aryl sulfone-containing compounds display a variety of biological activities. Several of them are marketed drugs for treatment of human diseases. Examples include the antimigraine Vioxx, the antibacterial Dapsone and the antiandrogen Casodex. Various ortho-substituted phenyl sulfone derivatives have recently drawn much attention because of their biological activities as well as their utilities as useful ligands for transitionmetals. From a synthetic perspective, sulfones are also versatile intermediates and are implicit in such classic transformations as the Ramberg-Backlund reaction and the Julia Olefination.There is a lot of generation of sulfone compounds based on classic reactivity patterns by the oxidation of a precursor sulfide or obtained from a conventional nucleophile/electrophile combination. Both of these approaches feature significant limitations: the use of an oxidative route precludes the presence of oxidation-sensitive functional groups and the corresponding sulfide precursors often require the use of foul-smelling thiols for their preparation. Consider the stereoselectivity. Many studies have shown that direct reaction using organic metallic reagent and sulfonyl chloride is to generate a very simple method of sulfone compounds.When using organiczinc reagent, the compatibility of reactive functional groups and this is a very ideal organometallic reagents. Our team has reported organic zinc reagent and sulfonyl chloride generated sulfone reaction, because for metal catalyst, catalyst we considered for its improvement. Organic zinc based on our project leader time to explore the application in the synthesis of sulfone compounds, we hope to sulfonyl chloride and organic zinc reagent in appropriate ligands and nonmetal under the condition of the existence of catalyst addition reaction. This paper choose organic zinc reagent and sulfonyl chloride as the research object,and study the reaction between them, sulfone compounds for synthesis of high functional groups.In this article, a facile Ph3 PO catalyzed synthesis of sulfones involving a nucleophilic addition of functionalized organozinc reagents to organic sulfonyl chlorides is reported. This reaction proceeds efficiently at room temperature, giving rise to variously functional substituted sulfones, generally in moderate to high yields. The method provides a novel,simple, and promising strategy for functionalized sulfone synthesis in the research field of sulfur chemistry.
