The type of ZJ ultra- high speed cigarette- making machine is applied widely in domestic cigarette- making factory by its high performance. ZJ116 ultra- high speed cigarette- making machine is designed and manufactured by C hangde Tobacco Machinery Co, and one of the core components is the tobacco provision machine, which is improved based on PRO TOS2-2, at the same time absorbing the new technology of M5 and M8. But there is a guide deadlocking proble m on this machine which is caused by deficient stiffness of the frame in tobacco provis ion machine. To increase the rigidity of the frame and enable the tobacco transport belt to operate norma lly, this paper presents an optimization of the frame of tobacco provision machine in ZJ116 by finite element method. While a finite element mode l of the guides package and its analytical model are built respectively, and get the results of two models. Moreover, the finite element model of the frame of tobacco provision machine is built, and according to the calculation results, the position w ith deficient stiffness of the frame is found, then the frame is optimized to solve the deadlock problem of the guides package. The main content are as follows:(1)Geometric and analyt ical model of the tobacco provis ion machine is built. Through field research, to master the working princ iple of tobacco provis ion machine, and the relationship between the various components, then the geometric model of tobacco provis ion machine is built. Analysis the force conditions of the various parts on tobacco provis ion machine in actual situation, and then build the analytical model of Guides package, which is one of the core component of the tobacco provision machine.(2)The finite element model of the frame of tobacco provision machine is built and analyzed. After simplifying the geometric model of guides package moderately by removing the parts and structure details which have less influence on stiffness of the frame of tobacco provision machine, the finite ele ment model of the frame of machine is built. It is shown from the comparative results in the finite ele ment model and analytical model that the finite ele ment model is convincible. After building and analyzing the finite ele ment model of the frame of tobacco provis ion machine, the places whose stiffness are deficient in the frame are found to solve the guide deadlocking proble m.(3)The structural optimization of the frame of tobacco provis ion machine. After analyzing the finite ele ment model of the frame of tobacco provis ion machine, the places whose stiffness are deficient in the frame are found, then the frame is optimized by adding support plates, and then changing the shape?number and thickness of support plates to get the optimal solut ion. The optimization results are shown that the maximum deformation of the frame decreases by 50.0% in the X direction and 91.1% in the Y direction respective ly. Eventually, the guide deadlocking problem of the origina l tobacco provis ion machine is resolved.
