The developments of industry production cause a dramatic increase of industrial wastewaters, which are considerably harmful to the ecological environment and human health. Although traditional methods of water decontamination could partly mitigate water pollution, most of treatments were chemical, costly and complex Physical absorption, which possessed the advantages of non-expensive and environmental friendly, was increasingly used. Cyclodextrin as the second generation of supramolecular host compound which is frontier of contemporary chemistry, more and more scholars have carried out related research. Moreover, treatment of industrial waste water were generally summarized In this paper. Also the relevant review of ?- cyclodextrin and its derivatives is conducted. Studied the preparation under different conditions sulfonylation ?-cyclodextrin. Screened out optimum synthesis conditions and conducted the purification treatment. So far Bridged cyclodextrin has little been reported for processing wastewater. This article has done some research for this aspects.Through aromatic groupsbridged ?-cyclodextrin, The introduction of a strong rigid structure of the aromatic group. Not only enhance the hydrophobicity of the body, but also expanded the number of cyclodextrin hydrophobic cavity. In order to study the application of Cyclodextrin and its derivatives in sewage treatment, this paper synthesized a bridged cyclodextrins. Explore its selective adsorption of phenol and influencing factors of adsorption.Specific research contents and results were as follows:Under alkaline conditions,6-deoxy-tosyl-?-cyclodextrin was prepared by the reaction of ?-CD with p-toluenesulfonyl chloride as the raw material.Under nitrogen use this intermediate with m-Xylylenediamine synthesis m-Xylylenediamine bridged bis(6-amino-6-deoxy-?-CD).The compound has been characterized by means of UV-Vis,IR,1H NMR spectroscopies. The influence of adsorption conditions including adsorption time, pH,adsorption temperature and phenol initial concentration on adsorption capabilitywere investigated. The adsorption isotherm can be correlated to both Langmuir and Freundlich models. The maximum adsorption capacity was measured to be 6.675mg/g under the initial concentration of 50mg/L,pH=7,adsorption 90 min at 298 K. It can be found that the adsorption process of m-Xylylenediamine bridged bis(6-amino-6-deoxy-?-CD) on phenol is more consistent with the Langmuir isotherm model. The results of 1/n are less than 1 at different temperature. The adsorption isotherm can be correlated to both Langmuirand Freundlich models. It can be proved that the adsorption process is exothermic, spontaneous by H?? o0.
