Burning of sulfur-containing compounds in the gasoline caused serious air pollution problem, it is a threat to human health. With strengthen of environmental protection consciousness and development of environmental regulations, there has a higher standard of clean gasoline to observe. Reaction adsorption desulfurization has becomes a hot research topic due in recent years because of its advantage. Compare with the hydro desulfurization technology, reaction adsorption desulfurization technology has lower hydrogen consumption and lower hydrogen purity requirement. It can remove thiophene-sulfur-containing compounds effectively and meet the requirements of deep desulfurization in relative mild reaction condition, the octane value loss is small during desulfurization process.The Ni/ZnO desulfurization agent has been prepared via the method of equal volume impregnation by using Ni as the active component, ZnO as the sulfur storage material, A12O3 and SiO2 as the binder. The effects of preparation conditions of desulfurization agent on its desulfurizing capability and mechanical strength were investigated.The optimum technological condition and the reason of sulfur adsorbent's inactivation has also been investigated.The desulfurizing capability is improved firstly then reduced with the range of Al/Si mass-ratio from 0.6 to 1.4, there has an optimum in 1. The mechanical strength has been significantly improved with the increasing of Al/Si mass-ratio. With the increasing of HNO3 mass-ratio, the desulfurizing capability is improved, the mechanical strength is reduced. With the increasing of binder component's mass-ratio and the increasing of kneading time, the desulfurizing capability and the mechanical strength are both improved. With the increasing of Ni/Zn mole-ratio, the desulfurizing capability is increased first and then be stable, while the mechanical strength is improved. When the desulfurizing capability reach the optimum point, the Al/Si mass-ratio is 1, the HNO3 mass-ratio is 8%, the binder component's mass-ratio is 2, the Ni/Zn mole-ratio is 0.2, and the kneading time is 40 min.The optimum process conditions are as follows:T=400?, p=1.2 MPa, volumetric space velocity=10. Under the condition the adsorption desulfurization agent's sulfur capacity can reach 64.65 mg/g. Compared the fresh adsorption desulfurization agent with the inactivation one, the results showed that the main reason of the inactivation is the reduce of ZnO and Ni; the appearance of ZnS, NiS and Ni3C; the reduce of the adsorption desulfurization agent's specific surface area, average pore diameter and average pore volum.
