Direct Alcohol Fuel Cell has a promising prospect in the area of portable power source and electric vehicles, due to its light weight,small volume, simple structure, high energy efficiency, ease of fuel storage and distribution and low pollution. But as the most common anode catalyst in DAFC at present, Pt based precious alloy catalyst has disadvantages of high price, low reserve and easy to poisoning. In this paper, the copper based amorphous alloys were prepared by melt-spinning technique and activated by HF solution. The phases and microstructures are studied by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope. The effect of the compositions onelectro-catalytic oxidation property and stability of copper based amorphous are studied by cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The electro-catalytic oxidation reaction rate constant of active Cu6oZr34Ti6 and Cu60Zr34Ti1Ni5 amorphous ribbons is measured by double potential step chronoamperometry method.The amorphous ribbon without HF treatment doesn't own electro-catalytic oxidation property to methanol and ethanol, but the amorphous with HF treatment owns it. Changing the concentration of HF solution and corrosion time can optimize the amorphous's electro-catalytic oxidation property. The electro-catalytic oxidation property of the amorphous ribbon's two surfaces is different, and the surface away from wheel is better than another surfacedue to its better microstructure. The electro-catalytic oxidation property of amorphous ribbon is better than the same component crystalline sample. The oxidation reaction rate constant of Cu60Zr34Ti6 amorphous ribbon to methanol is 4.55x105cm3.mol-1.s-1, and that to ethanol is 5.42x105cm3.mol-1.s-1. With the increase of copper content, the electro-catalytic oxidation peoperth of ternary Cu-Zr-Ti amorphous ribbon increases first and then decreases.Among Cu60Zr34Ti5Xi (X=Co, Fe, Ni, In) amorphous ribbons, Cu6oZr34TisNii owns excellent electro-catalytic oxidation property. Among copper based amorphous Cu6oZr34TixNi6-x (x= 1,3,5) CueoZr34TiiNis amorphous ribbon owns excellent eletro-catalytic oxidation property. The oxidation reaction rate constant of Cu6oZr34Ti6 amorphous ribbon to methanol is 9.53x105cm3Amol-1.s-1, and that to ethanol is 8.30x105cm3.mol-1.s-1.
