Studies On Characters And Degumming Process In Different Parts Of Ramie

Ramie is admitted as the king of nature fiber, now the cultivation area and the output of ramie in China accounts for more than 90% of the world. The Ramie fiber and fabric products are the important industry material and traditional export products. Due to the excellent wearability of ramie satisfies the concept of fashion, health, green consumption, ramie garment is becoming more and more welcome. In addition, the “12th five-year plan” put forward to develop ramie fiber strongly, so it's no time to delay developing the high quality ramie fiber and related products.The high quality of ramie product is not only rooted in the optimizing of after finishing, but also concerns the quality of the raw material. The higher quality of fiber, the higher grade of the products. Firstly, the detailed research of ramie about different parts can make ramie work the best, the different parts of ramie can be used in different products, which can make ramie be more efficient and higher output. Secondly, to cut the ramie at beginning can reduce the irregularity of length and mechanical damage because of the pull action of cylinder and the plate during the cutting process; Moreover, it's beneficial to improve the straightness of the fiber during the opening process, thus saving cost and energy. At the same time, the detailed research of ramie lays a theoretical foundation for the following degumming process, which can improve the disadvantage such as: long procedure, high cost, heavy pollution and so on. This paper researched the quality of different parts of ramie and explored the segmentation degumming process, lays a theoretical foundation for the high efficiency production. The main research and result is as below:(1)The analysis for the physical properties of different parts of ramieBy traditional chemical degumming process, we can get different parts of degummed ramie, and test the fineness, breaking strength, elongation, friction performance and so on. We can find the fineness and irregularity of fineness reduce gradually from the root to head from the result. The breaking strength of the root is the maximum, but to the middle, both the relative strength and the specific work are maximum, the relative strength of the head is lowest than root and middle parts. As far as the friction coefficient, the middle is the minimum, the second is the root, the head is the roughest.(2)The aggregate structure of different parts of ramieTesting the microstructure of different parts of raw ramie and degummed ramie, we can get that the fiber in head is severely damaged, the middle is smoother than the root from SEM photos. X-ray diffractometer results show: the crystallinity of middle fiber is highest in both raw and degummed ramie, that is 81.30% and 67.28%. The crystallinity in the root is higher than the head. Unlike crystallinity, the ranking of orientation degree from high to low is the head, the middle and the root. After being degummed, the crystallinity and orientation degree decrease to some degree. Infrared spectra curve of raw ramie shows that different parts' fiber has the same trend, but the peak value is different, while the infrared spectrum curve of degummed ramie is almost same.(3)The chemical component testing and analysis for different parts of ramieAccording to the method of quantitative analysis of ramie chemical components, analyzing the content of fatty wax, water soluble, pectin, lignin, hemicellulose and cellulose of different parts. We can find that different parts have different composition content, the each ingredient in head is higher than that in middle and root. The total pectin composition in middle and root is slightly different, in which the amount of pectin and lignin in middle is more than that in root, but the amount of fatty wax, water soluble and hemicellulose is opposite. The cellulose content in middle and root is almost the same.(4)The exploration about degumming process of different parts of ramieAccording to the result of determination of chemical composition, we try to explore technology of segmentation degumming. First, analysis the effect of one-step degumming and optimize related technological parameter, then test the residual gum content separately. Compare the one-step and two-step degumming and find the better for each part of ramie.After the optimized one-step degumming, the residual gum content of the head, the middle and the root are 2.55%?2.17%?2.12% respectively. Compared to two-step degumming, we can find lignin and hemicellulose are difficult to clean. As the head has more pectin, which need longer infiltration and scouring time, so two-step degumming is suit for the head fiber. Even the total pectin in middle is less, but its adhesion is large and it is difficult to remove, so the middle fiber need two-step degumming process. For the root fiber, the pectin content is less and easy to remove, consider the efficiency of degumming and cost comprehensively, one-step degumming is good.
