In the traditional injection molding process, the forming quality of the thick wall injection molding parts is difficult to guarantee, and it is easy to be formed by surface shrinkage, internal shrinkage, porosity, poor size, and low strength. The production of thick walled parts is dependent on large injection molding machine, energy consumption, low pass rate, low production efficiency. In view of the above problems,the injection shrinkage of thick wall parts was analyzed, and the mechanism and process of the compression molding were studied. According to the molding process and the parameters of the thick wall injection molding products, the large scale extrusion compression joint molding equipment is researched and manufactured.Based on the thick parts basic mechanisms and the molding process of the existing research the advantages of the extrusion process was summed up. According to these theories the joint compression molding extrusion molding equipment was developed that was used for practical industrial extrusion compression.The functions of the equipment can be realized, and the production process of the existing injection molding machine is proposed. The extrusion process and the compression molding process are separated in two phases. Referring to the structure design of the existing injection molding machine, the structure of the extrusion pressing plastic joint forming equipment is designed according to the requirement of the actual process of pressing and forming. Extrusion molding combined forming equipment is by the conversion cylinder mechanism, the clamping mechanism, the pressure feeding mechanism, and the compression molding mold. According to the movement of equipment and operation requirement of each organization strive to within the reach of the actual operation standard status under the most economical design. Equipment of the target products is polyethylene DN120*200 flange blank.Designing the equipment combined with the characteristics of thick wall molding of mold equipment with plastic compression molding process. Choosing the appropriate conjunction extruder based on the melt capacity and economic consideration. According to the requirements of the products and pressure parameters,calculate the hydraulic cylinder bore and stroke. Combined with the action process of the device to select the appropriate implementation of components and electrical accessories. According to the actual operation requirements of the equipment, select the appropriate guide rail and buffer and other standard parts.According to the design of apparatus, the statics of the key parts were analyzed by using Ansys software.After determining the program with my mentor and our team, the feasibility of the device was been assessed, and the efficiency and the cost of the equipment was calculated. After completion of the processing equipment parts, the equipment was assembled. The equipment has been debugged by the requirements and works stably.
