In this paper, the process parameters for the sawing wire ?0.12 mm have determined on the basis of production practice, the production processes includes the pre-treatment of material,heat treatment, electroplating and the wet-drawing of sawing wire,etc.In the production of brass wire, which is the semi-finished products of sawing wire, we considered fully from heat treatment, electroplating, etc, confirm that the best temperature for sorbite generating in sawing wire materials(brass wire) producing is 610?. The production practice get the conclusion that the transition temperature of sorbite is higher, the greater the slice layer spacing of cementite, the lower the tensile strength of steel wire.The service life of die has studied in production of the sawing wire,when the mold drawing to 3000 km, with the increasing length of drawing, the abrasion of molds change bigger, and the surface quality of the sawing wire change poorer. Therefore, the replacement cycle of die is determined in 3000±200km.There are mainly three aspects in the fracture analysis of the sawing wire,including no uniform heat treatment organization, non-metallic inclusions and surface damage from the cause of broken wires.In applications of sawing wire, the improvement effect of optimizing mold parameters to wire surface hardness is not obvious, while through reducing the strength of brass wire, increasing the raw material plastic and increase the wet drawing compression ratio could get the sawing wire that tensile strength of about 3700-3800 MPa and surface hardness of about 700HV0.01. In this way, the wear resistance of wire get improved.
