With the electric Motor technology development of the high speed precise finishing mill, the motor has much more strict requirement for sliding bearing in high precision. But such bearing has always been monopolized by foreign famous bearing manufacturers. Therefore, we designed and self-made new anti-thrust sliding bearing in our 6800 kw Variable frequency asynchronous motor project.Aiming at the anti-thrust sliding bearing design for high-speed finishing mill motor, combined with sliding bearing operation principle and hydrodynamic lubrication theory, it analyzed the structure characteristics of the radial cylindrical sliding bearing and the radial elliptical sliding bearing, and made several calculations for the both types radial bearings under different parameters. It also analyzed the advantages and disadvantages for several usual anti-thrust sliding bearings, which are used combined with the radial bearings. Besides, it calculated the elastic supporting radial anti-thrust bearing under different parameters. It also analyzed the rigidity and the strength about the whole bearing structures by using the finite element software. On the bearing seal side, this article came out with bearing structure improvement solution. At last, it proven this design correctness based on bearing practical manufacturing and electric motor experimental result.
