At present, sheet aluminum powder is regularly used in preparing low infrared emissivity coating. However, it isn't applied to visible light, because of high metallic luster and color toneless. Through cladding or compositing to aluminum particles we can change the color of coating, but it also lead to some disadvantages such as emissivity elevated significantly, fussy process and poor stability.To solve this problem, a method of adding pigment directly was selected in this paper owing to its convenience to operate and engineered. We revealed the compatible mechanism of color and low infrared emissivity, built a theoretical model of compatible coating and put forward the key parameters of making the two compatible based on analyzing the effects of tinting pigment on infrared emissivity of coating, which is the important foundation and basis for successfully preparing compatible coating. according to the gravity settling regularity, particles of infrared light scattering laws and the influence of pigment particles of aluminum directional arrangement, four color schemes(gray, blue, yellow, and green) chromaticity and low infrared emissivity compatible coating were prepared. And then we tested its optical property, mechanical property, thermal stability and corrosion resistance, the results proved each of the four has a generally superior code. Its infrared emitting ability was 0.2 at infrared band 8-14?m. And Its hardness, adhesion, flexibility, and shock resistance were 2 H ~ 3 H, level 1, 1 mm, and 50 kg?cm, respectively, The compatible had obvious chromaticity change compare with the original low infrared emissivity coating and the mechanical property is kept. For the grey coating added carbon black pigment, its brightness and glossiness can be reduced by 56% and 80%, respectively; for the green coating added phthalocyanine green, its brightness and glossiness can be reduced by 27.6% and 38.5%, respectively; for the blue coating added phthalocyanine blue, its brightness and glossiness can be reduced by 32.2% and 48.5%, respectively; for the yellow coating added iron oxide yellow, its brightness and glossiness can be reduced by 32.2% and 48.5%, respectively. Additionally, the resistance to neutral salt fog was more than 30 d, which is far better than the original low infrared emissivity coating.
