The coal industry as the basis is an important material foundation of Chinese economy and social development. However, with the exploitation of coal resources, its effect on environment is increasingly intensified. Shanxi Province, as a big province of coal resources, the northern hilly area has a lot of village above coal which suffered ecological destruction, thus affect the entire region ecosystem both on structure and function. So research on land ecological security evaluation of the coal mining under village area has very important scientific significance. At present, due to no more mature theories and methods of land ecological security evaluation, so this study based on related research on comprehensive evaluation of land ecological security in domestic and abroad and some examples to put forward some practical methods. The research area of this study is the 47 administrative villages in the Changhe river basin of Jincheng City. The comprehensive index analysis method is adopted and based on the "pressure-state-response" (PSR model),"nature-economy-society" model, a public questionnaire investigation, and interview of village head, the index system of land ecological security evaluation is established. The max-min method was applied to standardize and entropy method was used to determine the index weight. To evaluate ecological security, the three subsystems "pressure, state, response" are set, under the three subsystems "natural, social and economic" three factor layers are established and 20 representative indexes were selected considering the availability of data. Based on PSR model, these researches evaluate land ecological security and spatial differences of 47 administrative villages in Jincheng Changhe River basin. In the 47 administrative villages, the land ecological security situation of the east 6 villages like Wang Zhuang village are in the risk level (i.e. in the alarm state); 16 villages like Meng Shan village are in the sensitive level (i.e. the warning state); The other 25 villages like Shang Xiaohe village were in a relatively safe state. By Pearson correlation analysis in SPSS, the pressure, state and response results were analyzed. Results: the correlation coefficient between the comprehensive value and response result is maximum 0.617**;It was indicated that the land ecological response value is of the largest contribution to land ecological security comprehensive value. According to research results, the countermeasures and suggestions for the sustainable utilization of land resources and the protection of land resources in Changhe Basin were put forward.
