Ceramic shuttle kiln is a kind of common thermal technology equipment in ceramic production. The firing zone working condition of ceramic shuttle kiln directly affects the quality and production efficiency of ceramic productions. At present, the temperature detection and control method of ceramic shuttle kiln are relatively backward. In order to improve the quality of ceramic products, it is very necessary to study advanced detection and control method used for effective control of firing zone in ceramic shuttle kiln.Ceramic shuttle kiln control system is a kind of nonlinear system with large delay, strong coupling, time-varying characteristics. It is difficult for separate PID control to meet the control requirements. So in this paper, the intelligent control based on PID control is used to realize the control of ceramic shuttle kiln. For low temperature detection accuracy and backward control methods of ceramic shuttle kiln, the research work done in this paper is as following.1. The temperature of ceramic shuttle kiln is detected by thermocouples. At the same time, the flame images of ceramic shuttle kiln is taken by the CCD cameras. Then the flame images collected are processed to get corresponding temperature values. These temperature values are fused with the temperature values got by thermocouples to get the temperature fusion values which will be stored in the expert system.2. In ceramic firing, according to the characteristic of the ceramic product, the firing temperature curve is extracted from expert system. The model of temperature variation process is established by using finite state machine. In addition, the theoretical model of ceramic shuttle kiln is also established. The specific parameters of the model are got by measuring the input and output values and using the least squares identification. Finally, the mathematical model of ceramic shuttle kiln is established.3. The Kalman filter algorithm is given. Kalman filtering method is combined with the traditional PID control method to get the hybrid intelligent controller based on PID, and to realize the intelligent control of firing zone temperature for ceramic shuttle kiln better. At last, Matlab simulation-based results show that the designed controller is effective and feasible.
