This article sets the southeast of the Mu Us Sandy Land as research object and it is based on the previous research in desertification stage. In this article, I adopt space instead of ti me series research method to analyze the primary product and service provided by the ecosystem of the southeast of the Mu Us Sandy Land. This article first confirms seven primary ecosystem service function such as providing carbon dioxide, fixing carbon dioxide, releasing carbon dioxide, maintaining soil, conserving water, nutrient recycling and protecting biodiversity as evaluation target. Based on the field investigation and analysis, this article estimates the southeast of the Mu Us Sandy Land's ecosystem service function value in different desertification stages respectively. The main results of the research are as follows:(1) The ecosystem service function value of the southeast of the Mu Us Sandy Land in non-desertification stage, potential desertification stage, mild desertification stage, moderate desertification stage, severe desertification stage are 6.1200×104RMB/hm2a·6.0579×104 RMB/hm2·a,5.0452×104RMB/hm2·a,4.4797×104RMB/hm2·a,3.7639×104RMB/hm2·a respectively, from which we can see the ecosystem service function value of the southeast of the Mu Us Sandy Land is declining continuously during the succession of desertificati n process. From the non-desertification stage to the desertification stage, the value only declines by 1.02%, while from potential desertification stage to mild desertification stage and from moderate desertification stage to severe desertification stage, the value declines by 16.72% and 15.98% respectively.(2) During the succession of desertification process, the southeast of the Mu Us Sandy Land' s every single ecosystem service function value analyzed by variance analysis shows statistic al difference among different population and obvious level significance difference (p<0.01). Based on the results, any succession of desertification stage of the southeast of the Mu Us Sandy Land has great impact on every single ecosystem service function value.(3) Each of the ecosystem service function value of the southeast of the Mu Us Sandy Land is the same in different stages of desertification. The value of soil erosion control is the la rgest, and the value of nutrient cycle is the least. And the total value of soil erosion control and water conservation value is more than 90% of the total value of ecosyste m services.(4) During the succession of desertification process of the southeast of the Mu Us Sandy Lan d, every single ecosystem service function value's change presents different tendency. From non-desertification stage to severe desertification stage, the composition of every single value changes. The proportion of conserving water value increases from 31.15% to 45.18%, while the proportion of other value decreases correspondingly.(5) During the succession of desertification process of the southeast of the Mu Us Sandy Land, the service value and the total value of every single ecosystem service function are highly negatively related to desertification gradient. Maintaining soil, conserving water and protect ing biodiversity shows significant highly negative correlation, and the correlation of the cons erving water value is the highest which reaches to -0.991.From the above conclusion, during the succession of desertification process of the southea-st of the Mu Us Sandy Land, every single ecosystem service function value is declining all the time. Desertification has different impact on every single service function, so we have to find the corresponding ecological restoration and protection measures to prevent the spread of desertification such as intensifying retreat and reforestation, planning rational usage of land, strengthening the construction of regional vegetation, increasing the propaganda, etc. In this way, we can achieve ecological goals which are regional economic development and environment sustainable development.
