With the prosperity and development of the feather market,the feather and products industry has become a huge potential for development in national economy industry,and the feather quality evaluation standard is more and more important,the feather moisture content detection is particularly important in these standards.The traditional feather moisture detection method is mainly using the method of drying oven.This method you must participate in the measurement process and can not achieve the automation;Process needs to consume large amount of time,the measurement efficiency is low;When drying material moisture,the other ingredients such as oils and fats are also dried,affecting the accuracy of the measurement results;And the high temperature will harm the nature attribute of down and feather.By analyzing the working principle of these moisture measurement methods and its advantages and disadvantages,it can be known that the vacuum drying moisture measuring method can effectively solve the problems existing in the traditional oven method in the detection process,therefor.it urgently need to develop an automated feather moisture detecting instrument that is based on the principle of vacuum drying.By analyzing the working principle and its advantages and disadvantages of various moisture measurement methods at home and abroad,we finally selected vacuum drying moisture measurement as the feather moisture detection method.In vacuum drying process,the temperature to be need in the process of the water become evaporation is directly proportional to the pressure,and the moisture in the material at low temperature can be vaporized,so it can realize low temperature drying.In vacuum drying process,because the pressure of drying chamber is always lower than the atmospheric pressure,less number of gas molecules,low density,low oxygen content,thus it can easily dry some materials that easy to oxidation.vacuum drying can solve the solute separated phenomenon produced by hot air drying.By hot air drying,dry material surface and internal form large temperature gradient,it prompted by some composition in the dry material.Thus it known as "green dry".This method can effectively solve the problem that it lost the active components of existence in the traditional oven method.At the same time,it has some characteristics,such as quick drying speed,high efficiency,easily to realize automatic detection,etc.In this paper,we proposes a feather moisture measurement system overall scheme,based on the principle of vacuum drying method.According to the overall scheme of the system and function requirement,we design and product an automatic feather moisture measuring instrument,and on the basis of formulating the feather moisture detection technology,we form industry measurement standards and meet the needs of the development of industry.Feather moisture measuring instrument developed by this project used the modern control technology,computer communication technology,and the design of the CAD/CAE technology.it contains the PLC control system,the serial communication system,the mechanical executive system and man-machine interface system and other units,with automatic drying,automatic weighing,automatic generate reports,and other functions.its measure process has some characteristics,such as simple and fast speed,high precision,good reliability and so on.it can completely replace the existing measuring methods and is suitable for widely in the industry.
