With the rapid development of science and technology, the mold industry becomes more and more competitive. Price factor is no longer an advantage, instead, the mold quality has a great effect on the competitiveness of a mold company. Thus, only a mold enterprise provides the customers with high quality mold products, can it win customers' trust such that it can survive in the intense market competition. Therefore, gradually, how to ensure the mold quality attracts a mold company's attention. In recent years, although the mold industry makes significant progress in the design and manufacturing of mold, some uncertain factors in mold manufacturing process still exist, leading to repeated modifications of mold products. This makes it hard to guarantee the quality. Hence, the role of the inspection department is vitally important in the mold manufacturing because how to ensure a stable inspection process affects the quality of the mold quality directly.The purpose of this study is to use statistical process control (SPC) method to monitor and predict the inspection process of mold parts, and enhance the stability of the inspection process by the means of modern statistical control. By considering the characteristics of M Company, in order to improve the quality of the inspection process, this work proposes a method that applies SPC to the mold parts' inspection process for the purpose of increasing the mold product quality and decreasing the company's production cost. The main work is as follows:Firstly, this work analyzes the inspection operation of the mold parts. It is found that the omission rate is very high and the accuracy and efficiency rate is very low. This results in frequent mold quality problems which cause a bad impact on the long-term development of the company.Secondly, this work describes the basic theory of SPC and its application to the mold inspection process of M company. After that, the key quality variables of the inspection process of mold parts are introduced. Then, with the 5M1E analytic method, the inspection process is improved such that the purpose of prevention and improvement is achieved.Finally, this work introduces the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation with which one can evaluate the implementation of SPC. As a key point, the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is introduced to determine the weights of evaluation factors in inspection process, and eventually, obtain the results of the evaluation.
