This study data came from tobacco grading intelligent examination system in China national tobacco corporation staff development institute with 2013 to 2015. Using statistical methods such as cluster analysis and variance analysis, discussed flue-cured tobacco 42 grades emergence frequency, error rate and wrong orientation. The main results were as follows:1. Emergence frequency of flue-cured tobacco 42 grades in grading testResults of emergence frequency analysis pointed out:in bundled tobacco fast grading test, emergence frequency of B2F, C3F, C4F and C3L were at 100%, the result suggesting that this four grades were appeared in every test; emergence frequency of B3F, X2F, X3F X2L, X3L, B2K and CX1K were all as high as 96.8%. In lamina grading test, emergence frequency of B2F, B3F, C3F, C4F, C3L, X2F, X3F and X2L were all at 93.3%; emergence frequency of C3V, GY1 and B2K were all at 80.0%. In throw tobacco grading test, emergence frequency of B2F, C3F and X2F were all at 93.8%. It is worth mentioning that, emergence frequency of CIF, H1F and H2F in three types of test were basic to zero, which may be due to the relatively rare in the acquisition2. Error rate of flue-cured tobacco 42 grades in grading testIn bundled tobacco fast grading test, grade B1R had the highest error rate, which at the level of 79.1%, followed by grade B1L (74.4%) and X1F (71.7%). In vice group, grade X2V (59.2%), B1K (52.1%) and B2V (49.4%) had higher error rate. In lamina grading test, grade B1L had the highest error rate, which at the level of 79.6%, followed by grade X1F (66.2%), B1F (63.9%), X1L (62.1%), and C4L (60.2%). In throw tobacco grading test, grade B2V had the highest error rate, which at the level of 79.9%, followed by grade X2V (75.9%) and C2L (73.6%).3. Wrong orientation of flue-cured tobacco 42 grades in grading testIn bundled tobacco fast grading test, grade B1F, B1R, S1, B4F, B4L, B3R, CX2K, B3K and X4F respectively error to grade B2F (50.6%), B2R (10.5%), S2 (6.9%), B3F (14.3%), B3L (12.3%), B2R (5.6%), CX1K (9.1%), B2K (16.2%) and X3F (16.1%), which belonged to the adjacent error-prone grades; Grade XIF, XIL and X2F respectively mistake to C3F (20.1%), C3L (35.7%) and C4F (16.5%), which belonged to the position error-prone grades; Grade X2L and X4L respectively error to X2F (15.8%) and X4F (13.8%), which belonged to the color error-prone grades. Cos group B2F and B3F, B2R and B3R, C3F and C4F, C3L and C4L respectively error to each other, which belonged to the easy confusing grades. In addition, B1L, B2L C2F, C4F, C2L, X1F, C3V and CX1K all error to grade C3F, which suggested that C3F was the hot spots grade in bundled tobacco fast grading test.In lamina grading test, grade B1F, B2F, B1L, X1F, B2V, C4F, CX2K and S2 respectively error to grade B2F (28.6%), B3F (15.1%), B2L (15.9%), X2F (23.2%), B3V (11.8%), C3F (14.0%), CX1K (7.4%) and S1 (8.3%), which belonged to the adjacent error-prone grades; Grade X2F, X2L, B2L and C4L respectively mistake to C3F (8.1%), C3L (9.3%), C2F (10.8%) and X2L (15.9%), which belonged to the position error-prone grades; Grade X3L and X4L respectively error to X3F (12.1%) and X4F (19.6%), which belonged to the color error-prone grades. Cos group B3F and B4F, B3L and B4L, C2F and C3F, C2L and C3L, X3F and X4F, B2K and B3K, GY1 and GY2 respectively error to each other, which belonged to the easy confusing grades. In addition, Grade B2F, B4F, B2R, B3R and B3V all error to grade B3F, which suggested that B3F was the hot spots grade in lamina grading gtest. In throw tobacco grading test, grade C2F, B4F, B3L, B4L, C3L, C4L, X3F, B3K, GY2 and B3V respectively error to grade C3F (33.4%), B3F (15.4%), B2L (13.4%), B3L (20.1%), C2L (11.3%), C3L (18.4%), X2F (13.4%), B2K (10.8%), GY1 (12.4%) and B2V (10.5%), which belonged to the adjacent error-prone grades. Cos group B2F and B3F, C3F and C4F respectively error to each other, which belonged to the easy confusing grades. In addition, Grade C2F, C4F C3V and CX1K all error to grade C3F, which suggested that C3F was the hot spots grade in throw tobacco grading test.To sum up, our study systematic analyzed emergence frequency, error rate and wrong orientation of flue-cured tobacco 42 grades, finding out which were high emergence frequency grades, which were error-prone grades, which were easy confusing grades and had pointed the wrong orientation, which conducive to find specific solutions of grade error, break through the bottleneck, meanwhile, it has important guiding significance for improving their tobacco grading skill. However, the error rate and wrong orientation of flue-cured tobacco in different regions remains to be further perfected in the future work. Accurately grasp quality rules of the flue-cured tobacco position, colour, maturity, identity, oil content, leaf structure, flexible use of venation and leaf shape at the same time, which is the basic way to improve the level of tobacco leaf grading skills.
