In the process of chemical production, concentrated sulfuric acid is used as catalyst or directly involved in the reaction, and eventually produces a lot of waste liquid containing sulfuric acid. Recovery and utilization of sulfur containing waste water is not only the recycling of resources, but also an important requirement of national environmental protection. This paper has the industrial production of 300000 tons/year sulphur-containing wastewater acid plant (hereinafter referred to as:sulfuric acid plant) in Acrylonitrile Plant, Jilin Petrochemical Company as the background; analyzes technological process of sulfuric acid device and key equipment, at the same time has a control optimization for operation. This device uses the Sulphuric Acid Regeneration technology (SAR) of the MECS. Inc. US, which is a more advanced technology for recycling the waste acid so far. Through the optimization of key process indicators of sulphuric acid plant and considering the actual production conditions of the devices, we set the outlet temperature of the fire furnace within 1040-1070?,and residual oxygen of gas content is 1.6-2.2%. Sulfuric acid plant output and energy consumption achieve the design requirements. The device operating is flexible and the sulfuric acid concentration of finished product is stable at more than 98%. However, since the device was put into operation in May 2010, the amount of sulfur -containing waste water has not reached the design value because of the defects of important equipment. Through the study of the problems exposed in the process of production and operation, the preliminary reform plan was put forward. With the demonstration, finally the oxygen-enriched combustion technology was used to carry on the transformation of the equipment. In the practical application of the project, the treatment capacity of sulfur-containing wastewater was increased.Oxygen enrichment is combustion with pure oxygen instead of nitrogen in the air, which can reduce the excess air coefficient in Decomposition Furnace, and effectively improves the efficiency of heat utilization. For the project, Oxygen enrichment technology is an expansion plan of high investment benefit. In addition to economic advantages, oxygen enrichment can also improve the reliability of the operation and stability of the sulfuric acid plant.
