Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons(PAHs)are a kind of typical persistent organic pollutants.The are extremely low leves in the environment,but increasing attention is being paid as they can accumulation in humen body long time and have the obvious toxic,especially some have strong carcinogenic.With the development of human society,the marine pollution is becoming more and more serious.PAHs is one of difficult degradation and easy enrichment pollutants.They threat all life including human health by accumulation entire ecosystem through the food chain easily.Liaodong Bay is the industrial area,had important effect in Chinese economy development,along with the influence from human activities.This research study pollution characteristics of PAHs in sediment in north of Liaodong Bay.The sample come from Daling River estuary and Shuangtaizi River estuary.I hope this can provide scientific basis for environmental monitoring.Through analysis and discussion,the experimental results as follows:(1)With the information about the vertical distribution of radioactive activity of 210Pb in Liaodong Bay,give average sedimentation rates were 1.12cm/a.The trend of concentrations change with time were fit with economic development nearly.The concentrations of PAHs in core sediments of Shuangtaizi estuary were in the range of 39.79?503.52ng/g(average value:155.81ng/g).98.14?388.78ng/g(average value:182.35ng/g).The concentrations of PAHs in core sediments of Daling estuary were in the range of 207.13?882.15ng/g(average value:484.76ng/g).The4?5ring of PAHs are the dominated monomers in sediments of researching area.The pollurion levels in Daling estuary is higher than it in Shuangtaizi.Heavy ring proportion is the same as it.The pollurion levels in Liaodong Bay is far smaller than foreign heavily polluted areas,little higher than Changjiang and Bohai area.(2)The LMW/HMW ratio(all smaller than 1 in Liaodong Bay)indicated that PAHs are from the high temperature fuel burning.According to the diagnostic ratios and principal component analysis,the source of PAHs in the sediment core were mainly from high temperature combustion of coal and wood,small part were from automovile exhaust.But,the PAHs in Daling estuary were more complex.(3)According to the soil quality guideline ERL(Effects Range Low)and ERM(Effects Range Median),the ecological risk estimate of the PAHs in core sediments in Liaodong Bay were low and had uptrend.And ANA,FLU and IPY may occasionally pose adverse biological effects.But the ecological risk estimate by the BEQ of benzo(a)pyrene,suggesting that the toxicity of PAHs in this area was higher than the soild standards in Holland.The difference need further research.The ecological risk estimate in Daling estuary was higher than it in Shuangtaizi estuary,which need more attention.
