Evaluation Of Water Environmental Quality And Water Ecological Health In Wabu Lake

Wabu lake is the largest lake in Huaihe basin and also one of the five freshwater lakes in Anhui Province.The location steps across Lu'an,Hefei and Huainan.Wabu lake is an important part of "Ying Jiang Ji Huai" program,as well as an important flood detention area and the main drinking water source in Huaihe Basin.The water quality of Wabu Lake is directly affects the economic and social development of the basin.At present,there is no research on investigating the situation of Wabu Lake water environment.This paper aims to make a detailed analysis of the present situation of Wabu Lake water environment and the sources of pollution in Huaihe basin,meantime evaluating the ecological health of the Lake from model calculation.The paper mainly contains following sections:(1)According to geographical factors,Wabu Lake can be divided into three parts: the northern lake,the central lake and the southern lake.The major rivers in the basin are Xin river,Zhuangmu river,Doujian river and Dongfei river.Based on water quality monitoring data in Wabu Lake Basin from August 2011 to December 2015,we analyzed the water quality of the three lakes and four major rivers.According to the relevant data processing and analysis methods,we evaluated the eutrophication level of Wabu Lake.The results from Nemero index method calculating show that the water quality of the North Lake area is Grade III,the middle lake and the southern lake are Leval ?.Xin River,Dongfei River and Doujian River are Level ?.Eutrophication evaluation results shows that the eutrophication index of Wabu lake exceed 50,belong to mildly eutrophication.(2)For getting more information about the current situation of water environment in Wabu lake,we evaluated the water quality and sediment situation of Wabu lake using monitoring data from January 2010 to December2015.Evaluation results show that the water quality of the north lake is Level?,the central lake and the southern lake are Level ?;sediments of three lakes are Level ?.(3)In order to understand the pollution situation in the Wabu Lake Basin,we investigated the main pollution sources and analyzed the pollutantemissions of the lake.The results show that the main pollutants in Wabu lake are TN and TP,the main sources of pollution is agricultural non-point source pollution.The polluters of the Wabu Lake Basin are mainly derived from Shouxian County.(4)The EHCI of Wabu lake shows that the current state of health in Wabu Lake is moderate,down from the 1980 s and 2002.The contents of total nitrogen,total phosphorus and COD in water body of Wabu Lake increased,the phytoplankton and zooplankton increased,the amount of benthic fauna decreased,and the diversity of aquatic ecosystem decreased.
