Study Of Carbon Emission Reduction Methodology On Waste Straw Paper-making Project

Climate change is not only a worldwide concern,but also a common challenge we are facing.The greenhouse effect of greenhouse gases is the main factor that can result in climate change.The Chinese government improves the carbon market gradually and uses market mechanisms to tackle climate change.In June 2015,the Chinese government put forward that,carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP must fall by 60%-65% compared with 2005.Straw resource is abundant in China,but most of them are burning or abandoned.The value of them has not been used efficiently.Using straw for paper-making,power generation and other industries can effectively improve the state of waste straw and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases caused by straw.Main research purpose of this article is to develop the “carbon emission reduction methodology on waste straw paper-making project”,establish MRV system(“monitoring,reportable and verifiable”)on waste straw paper-making project and provide technical support for the voluntary carbon emission reduction exchange.In this paper,the main research subject is the “carbon emission reduction methodology on waste straw paper-making project”.The research contents and conclusions are as follows:So far,the National Development and Reform Commission has published 200 voluntary emission reduction methodologies.Among them,there are five methodologies involving in straw utilization.None of them are involving in straw paper-making project.This paper learnt from the present methodology and developed the carbon reduction calculation methodology on waste straw paper-making project that suits the situation of our country.The methodology includes instructions(sources,definition,conditions),related calculation(baseline emission and project emission,leakage,etc.)and specific monitoring plan(monitoring rules and monitoring data,parameter).Taking a straw paper-making project in Heilongjiang as example,the carbon reduction emissions and influencing factors are calculated using the “carbon emission reduction methodology on waste straw paper-making project”.Straw supply,transportation and energy consumption are the main factors that influence the carbon emission reduction of the project.Comprehensive benefit evaluation of straw under different utilization types are analyzed using AHP.
