This thesis focuses on the basalt fiber(BF)modified polypropylene(PP)materials by using the melt blending methods.Basalt fieber,as the environmental friendly materials,could be wildly used to strength and toughen polymer materials in many fields.With adding the PP-g-GMA,which is fabricated by the graft modified technology,into the BF/PP composites,and also alloyed plastic material such as POE(polyolefin elastomer),EPDM(ethylene-propylene-diene-terpolymerrubber)andMBS(Methylmethacrylate-Butadiene-Styrene)to improve the interfacial property and enhance the mechanical properties.A series experiment(mechanics experiment,SEM,DSC,XRD and TGA)are performed to analysis and calculate the combination properties of the modified materials after mixing with BF and three types of polymer,which could be better applied in automobile fields.The overall results as follow:The results show that the interfacial adhesion between PP and BF gets better after adding the PP-g-GMA,and the notched izod impact strength gets stronger because the material could better absorb the external force.With the increase of the BF content,the overall mechanical properties of the composites increase gradually,and the tensile yield strength increase from 38 MPA to 89 MPA,especially the notched impact strength increase from 1.43KJ·m-2 to 4.53KJ·m-2.When the content of BF over 30%,the mechanics of the composite materials are changed rarely.Through addingcompatilizer(PP-g-GMA)could improve the interface compatibility between the BF and PP,what's more,the composite materials could load more weight and absorb more extra strengths to realize the PP complex getting more toughen and strengthen.The composite crystallization melting behaviors and the mechanism of the materials arealso been investigate by the DSC(Differential Scanning Calorimetry)analysis.The results show that the degree of the crystallization grow increased as the BF contents getting higher.Though control the cooling rate could control the crystallization melting behaviors of the composites,consequently control the mechanical properties of the composites.The way of crystal growth are correspond to the mechanism of nucleation through analyzing of two model(Ozawa and Mo)with the constant value of ?and m.The crystallization-melting behaviors showing that the temperature of crystallization getting higher as the cooling rate decreasing,on the contrary,the temperature getting lower as the cooling rate increasing,and the incomplete crystallization occurs.X-ray diffraction(XRD)experiment show the crystal structure of the composite materials.The results show that ?peak occur after adding BF.However,the intensity of the diffraction are very low,which imply and the compatilizer(PP-g-GMA)and polymer play a little role in the trace?crystal formed.
