| Sensory integration refers to the ability of the brain to process and make adaptive responses to sensory information from various sensory organs(visual, auditory, tactile, vestibular and body sense). only through sensory integration, the different parts of the nervous system can coordinate the overall work, so that the individual and the environment is in contact with the smooth. Sensory integration disorder will lead to a child’s brain appeared some obstacles in the development process, resulting in different degrees of abnormal behavior, is not conducive to children’s psychological quality and improve the comprehensive ability. Sensory integration throughout the life of a person, three to six years of age is the best period for the treatment of sensory integration of children. But once more than twelve years old, can not be changed. Therefore, it is very important to children’s healthy growth to the sensory integration training of preschool children.With the urbanization and the establishment of the small family system, more and more children have got the sensory integration dysfunction(SID) to some extent. Among them, about 30% children’s situation are very serious. Sensory integration dysfunction(SID) sensory integration disorder had a bad effect on the learning and mental health in the children, even obstruct their healthy growth. As our society pays lots of attention on the preschool education, more and more people start to realize the necessity of sensory integration training for children. As an important kind of product to develop the potential for the preschool children, it also gets lots of attractions. But there are still few researches and discussions about the sensory integration training products.This article will have a study on the five sensory integration training camps, including the xiao yue fei training camps in Haidian, Beijing. I had a Preliminary research of target users through observation and in-depth interviews, and analyzed the features of the 3-6 years old children who had the SID using children’s cognitive psychology, behavior development and other related theory, trying to find the target user’s real requirements. The article also has an analysis on the current situation about the Sensory Integration Training(SIT) products and children furniture in China, trying to find the joint point. Then I put forward the new design position of children household SIT products and find out the key points for the SIT products design in the specific environment and the design elements for the children bedroom modular furniture. Finally, I designed a set of children’s bedroom furniture combining with the basic SIT function, in order to train the pre-school SID children subtly with the daily playing and interacting with their parents at home.I hope that the explorative design research for the children’s household SIT products can provide the theoretical supports and inspirations for the improvement for the SIT products’ market and the product designers when developing the SIT products. It also has certain practical significance for the parents when chosing the training products. |
