As coating printing or dyeing adhesive,waterborne polyurethane acrylate(WPUA)emulsion possesses plenty of advantages,such as good adhesion,abrasion resistance,chemical stability,mechanical properties,etc.However,WPUA still exists some disadvantages,it usually enhances the hardness of printed fabric,and the fastness is relatively poor.As a softening agent,amino silicone oil can not only make the printing or dyeing fabrics soft and smooth,but also significantly improve the color fastness and K/S value of fabric.In this thesis,pigment printing of cotton fabric was carried out with WPUA.The fastness,stiffness and handle of the printing fabric were investigated via varying dosages of adhesives,thickener,and softening agent and tuning the curing conditions.The optimum pigment printing process had been obtained with the following conditions: 4% of adhesives,1.4% of thickener,40g/L of softening agent and curved at 150 ? for 3 min.Results showed that the product exhibited excellent printing effect with good soft handle,high color yield and admirable fastness of dry/wet crocking and soaping,which were all level 4.Then,pigment-encapsulating WPUA was selected as coating printing or dyeing adhesive.The mechanical properties and water absorption of two kinds of adhesive films pure WPUA and pigment-encapsulating WPUA were compared.The adhesive was used for pigment printing of cotton fabrics,we further examined the influence of the amount of each component in the printing ink and the curing process conditions for the color fastness and yield.Compared to traditional physical mixing method for pigment printing,this method shortened the printing process,reduced the cost,and got the soft hand,high color quantity.Dry rubbing fastness was grade 4 to 5,the wet rubbing fastness and soaping fastness was level 4 of printed products.Pigment-encapsulating WPUA was also used in pigment dyeing.The optimum dyeing process was confirmed via changing the amount of adhesive and sodium alginate,pad conditions and curing conditions.Results showed that this method can get high color yield,good fabric softness and the K/S value was 11.The rubbing fastness was good,dry rubbing fastness was lever4-5,wet rubbing fastness was level 4,fade in color fastness of soaping fastness was grade 4,colorfastness could reach grade 4 to 5.
