The coal-bed methane(CBM)resource in Fukang mining area is very rich.The CBM resource and resource abundant of the main coal seam reached 590.27×108m3 and2.82×108m3/km2.The CBM has development potential.Fukang mining area is on the tectonic belt which is between Fukang fault zone and Yaomoshan fault zone.The fold is developed.The structure is complicated and the reservoirs property is heterogeneity.To locate the wellsite will be difficult.So it's necessary to divide block and evaluate exploitation potential.Through data collection,coal sample gathering and site survey,we carried the experimental study,data processing and analysis,and studied the CBM accumulation,geologic setting and the main coal seam reservoir characteristics of Fukang mining area.Found that reservoir quality and geological conditions are the main factors which dominating CBM enrichment and high-production.Reservoir characteristics include permeability,reservoir pressure,coal texture and desorption capacity.Geological conditions include lithologies of coal seam roof and bottom,geological tectonic,buried depth and geohydrological.Based on the factors of CBM enrichment and high-production,Fukang mining area is divided into 14 developing units,and Xishanyao formation is a single unit.Using AHP-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation,Fukang mining area carried out the blocks preferred and evaluate potential,then divided 14 units into three levels.The 5th,10 th,12th and 14 th units scored above 80 are the most favorable block.The 2th,3th,6th,11 th and 13 th units scored between 60 and 80 are the more favorable block.The 1th,4th,7th,8thand 9th units scored below 60 are the general block.Finally,drew the CBM development potential prediction map of the main coal seam of Fukang mining area.
