The Research Of Sealing Qualification Rate Improvement On Automatic-Produced Toothbrush Blister Packaging

It has been highly popular for vacuum blister packaging applied in domestic toothbrush brands,because of prominent comprehensive performance on the aesthetics of the packaging,the effectiveness of protection,the cost of package,the production popularity and convenience,automated packaging process of production and other aspects.To a toothbrush producer in ZhongShan city,the biggest problem in actual production is the blister sealing issue on automatic machine.The aim of this research is to help this company to improve the sealing qualification rate from current 90-95% to 99.9%.Toothbrush sealing result with vacuum blister packaging is mainly determined by two factors,raw materials and production processes.Raw materials include paper,ink,oil and plastic.Production processes include printing and blister oil coating processes on toothbrush backer card,and sealing parameters in toothbrush manufacturing process.Current research mainly focuses on performance adjustment for raw materials,but very few studies on the production processes.This thesis concentrates on how to improve blister sealing qualification rate by modifying oil coating and fully-automatic sealing production process.Experiments show that,blister welding results of toothbrush backer card will be significantly decreased after long time storage.The shelf lives of toothbrush backer cards are different by enterprises,brands and types,which can be tested by accelerated aging tests and blister peeling strength.Besides,the secondary blister varnish coating process can significantly improve the aging resistance performance of backer card,to help enterprise achieve higher sealing qualification rate.In a stable blister varnish coating process,toothbrush manufacturer can improve sealing qualification rate by modifying temperature,pressure,and welding time.Single factor analysis and orthogonal experiment show that priorities of these factors affecting the peel strength are welding edge width,welding time,temperature and pressure and the condition of the best sealing effect is welding edge width 6mm,welding time1.7s,temperature190? and pressure 180 KPa.Based on existing welding width 7mm no change for the company,the condition of welding time1.3s,temperature160? and pressure 210 KPa can help the company reach 17% improvement in capacity.All above conclusions have been certified in actual production and the sealing qualification rate reach to the target 99.9%.Aqueous blister varnish and PET plastic sheet will be the trend for toothbrush backer card because of their good environmental performance.Thus,this thesis research results can be adopt to determine the effect on sealing qualification rate when upgrading raw material.
