Polypropylene?PP?is one of the most commonly used plastics.It has been widely used in daily life because of its low price,good mechanical properties and heat resistance.However,polypropylene is limited in its future application due to its non-polarity,poor hydrophilicity,poor dyeability and antistatic property.For the modification of PP through solid-phase grafting,it has advantages as low tempreture and higher percentage of grafting.But there is a problem that the monomer can't be grafted onto PP uniformly.The monomer can be dispersed all the reaction environment through the process of swelling by supercritical CO2.In this paper,studied modification of PP through solid phase grafting and SC CO2 assisted modification of polypropylene by solid-phase.The PP was modified through solid phase grafting copolymerization.Useing BPO as the initiator,GMA as the grafting monomer and St as the comonomer.Investigated some effect factors to the reaction,as the reaction time,reaction temperature,the initiator and interface agent.The result showed that PP 10g,BPO 0.3%?wt?of PP,monomer 8%?wt?of PP,w?GMA?/w?St?=2/1,xylene 1.5mL,reaction tempreture 105?,reaction time 2h.The percentage of grafting can reach 7.02%and the efficiency of grafting can reach 87.75%.Useing BPO as the initiator,GMA was grafted onto PP in the solid phase with assistant of SC CO2.The effects of swelling conditions,as swelling time,swelling pressure,swelling temperature,reaction tempreture,reaction time and the co-solvent were discussed in details.The result showed the best swelling condition is that when swelling time reach 3h,swelling tempreture reach 43 ?,and swelling pressure reach 8.5MPa.The percentage of grafting in SC CO2 assisted modification through solid-phase grafting was higher than that modification through solid-phase grafting merely.Adding the co-solvent into the swelling process,can shorten the reaction time and increase the percentage of grafting.
