Iron mould coated sand casting not only has a high machining accuracy,few machining allowance,but also high quality.But one model is only match to one casting,and it's very expensive.Researchers always do many experiments to get the suitable parameters for production application.In this way,it will cost a lot of money,take a long time,and the most important,the experiment is very difficult.So finding a way to get the parameters simply and making non-riser casting achievable have been a hot topic in time community all the time.In this thesis,the cooling curve of ductile was tested.Parameters for production application were obtained by comparing with the curve from experiment and computer simulation.Then computer simulation was done to find the right parameters for ductile iron's iron mould coated sand non-riser casting.The main work and achievements are as following:1)Design and implement a simple operation and high accuracy experiment to text the cooling curve.Obtain the relationship with thickness of iron model and coated sand affect to the solidification of casting.The temperature measurement instrument,which is easy to use,is worth popularizing.2)Using ANSYS and MAGMAsoft to simulate temperature distribution.The initial parameters was obtained from relative reference books.Parameters for production application were obtained by comparing with the curve from experiment and computer simulation.Using MAGMAsoft to discuss whether non-riser is feasible or not.3)Iron mould coated sand non-riser casting was designed for four cylinders crankshaft after analyzing the crankshaft's characteristics.Facts show that Iron mould coated sand non-riser casting is feasible.In this thesis,experiment and computer simulation are used together to test the solidification of ductile iron.Getting the suitable parameters for production application,and ductile iron's Iron mould coated sand non-riser casting was able to realize.By optimizing,non-riser casting will take a wider and wider application.
