Compared with surface quality of single-axis machining process, surface quality coming from a joint feed axis is always worse, especially in side milling process. It is an urgent demand to find the way to improve the surface quality. Fluctuation of surface streaks is defined as the situation that grains appears dim and brighten periodically when side milling process of a slope. Through experiment and data analysis, to reveal the influence factors of fluctuation of surface streaks, on the effectiveness of the measures of surface defects.The surface quality of fluctuation of surface streaks is quantified by a surface profile measuring instrument, the experimental data analysis shows fluctuation of surface streaks is combined with elements that high frequency and low frequency wave, high frequency wave form to the naked eye can see embossed, low frequency wave invisible but can affect the surface quality. The items to evaluate surface stripe fluctuation intensity are made. The phenomena of fluctuation of surface streaks are produced in the two-axis machining, which confirms that fluctuation of surface streaks is closely related to the following error of servo system.To prove that fluctuation of surface streaks are correlated fluctuations of tracking error, established a simulation model, to study influences of the fluctuations of tracking error bringing to surface quality and then compared it with the surface of actual one. Compared the motor with free load with the actual processing status, it is confirmed that following error of servo system coming from inside. And with the current fluctuation has a high correlation, both shows the same frequency components and the amplitude level of consistency.By studying current fluctuation factors the following rules are Obtained: the motor has lower harmonic amplitude of The cogging torque ripple also has lower harmonic amplitude of Current fluctuations; Improve motor encoder bits will reduce the current ripple; Improve the speed loop proportional gain increases the rigidity of the servo system and reduce current fluctuations.Improve the motor manufacturing process, use High encoder and notch filter will reduce following error of Servo System. to reduce fluctuation of surface streaks.
