The environmental pollution caused by the pork industry can't be ignored.Constantly expanding scale of production, which is beyond the environment standard, will pollute water, soil and air. With growing of the pork consumption and production, the environment has a hindrance role on pork industry. As a part of economy, international trade is closely associated with the environmental pollution. In the international market of pork,China is a net importer.America is the most important trading partner of China. So the study on the environmental effect of U.S.-China pork trade is necessary. We could explore the proper use of the international market to protect domestic environment.Take advantage of the emission ratio, which is investigated by a lot of scholars,to calculate the pollution from pork industry. To research the environmental impact of pork trade, the paper analyze from three aspects of general trade, import and export following the Environmental Kuznets model. The result proved the existence of an inverted U-shaped curve between U.S.-China pork import on China's environment.Pork import from U.S.has reduced the pollution in China since 2011.Contrarily,the impact curve of export on the domestic pollution is U-shaped.Due to China's pork export volume is small, and pork export doesn't cause obviously negative effect on environment.Generally speaking,U.S.-China pork trade is benefit to China. To remedy the limitations of EKC model, the paper estimates the scale effect, composition effect, technique effect, policy effect, income effect and the market effect following Grossman and Krueger(1991).It finds that U.S.-China pork trade's impact on pollution include a positive scale effect, positive technique effect and negative composition effect.Increasing the scale of U.S.-China pork trade is beneficial to reduce the pork industry emission in China. As far as China is concerned,we should pay more attention to optimize the pork trade structure.China should import more low value pork products and export more high value products. At the same time,China should encourage technical cooperation and exchange with developed countries. We also need to increase Research and Development cost and make environment policy more stricter.
