With the rapid development of the global economy, the relationship between the economic growth and the environment has become the hot issue of economists and society as a whole. The international community is increasing emphasis on developing countries' environmental problems.China is in a critical period of development.Whether it is necessary to shift to low-carbon economic mode? What kind of the impact of rapid economic growth to environment? What are the deep reasons that cause the current state of environment? How to solve those problems? All these questions are the important issues in the society. It is very necessary to study theimpact of economic growth on environmental quality in the low-carbon economy framework. This paper based on macroeconomics,in accordance with the logic of what, why and how.Firstly, put forward the question. Is there the relationship between economic growth and environment? Then do the empirical analysis to find out the current situation of China.Thirdly, explore the internal factors of the current situation, and compare the regional and national internal factors. Finally, conclude with recommendations. This paper reviewed the domestic and international literature of economic growth and environment, and introduced the current situation of China's environment.Chapter 3 introduces the environment Solow model based on neo-classical economic theory, obtain the interaction mechanism of economic growth and the environment, which is the theoretical basis of this article.Based on the analysis of Chapter 3,Chapter 4 and 5 are the empirical analysis of the impact of China and regional economic growth on environment respectively. We found that China's curve does not match with the traditional "inverted U-shaped"Environmental Kuznets Curve and have different status and trends.Based on the empirical results of Chapter 4 and 5,we need to find out what are the deep causes of the status above.Chapter 6 established the factors decomposition formula by using index decomposition analysis method. Then we got five factors that affect the impact of economic growth on environment. They are population effects, scale effects, structure effects, energy effects and technical effects.Chapter 7 analyses the five effects combined with China's overall and regional reality, further confirms the five effects do work, and compares the overall and regional status. Finally,Chapter 8 summarizes the main conclusions of the paper and put forward corresponding suggestions. The conclusion of this paper:China's current relationship between economic growth and environment is different from the traditional "inverted U-shaped" Kuznets curve.China's industrial waste, industrial solid waste, industrial sulfur dioxide, industrial smoke, life waste, sulfur dioxide of life, smoke of life are declining with the economic growth.Industrial waste gas, sewage emission and energy consumption are still increasing with the economic growth. The eastern environment pollution is a downward trend in the future, the middle and western are still on the rise.Population effect, scale effect, structure effect, energy effect, technology effect are the deep motivation of the impact of economic growth on environment. This paper focuses on the relationship between economic growth and environment based on the low-carbon angle. The main innovation may include as follows:Firstly, uses factor analysis method, combined the entire pollution index into one.Secondly, studies the internal dynamic effects between economic growth and environment, most of the existing literature are static analysis.Thirdly, uses Divisia index decomposition method to analyze the five effects and provide a reference for the goverment to develop the economic and environmental policy. Finally, this paper expands indicators of environmental pollution from production area to the living pollution and energy pollution, and thus we can get more comprehensive analysis.
