This paper studied the research background of three phase separation,and its separation methods,including sedimentation separation,centrifugal separation and collision coalescence separation technology.The separation principle and separation characteristics of these separation technologies were introduced and further explained.This paper mainly studied the application and development of the cyclone separation technology in the three-phase separation,and then expounded the feasibility of the three-phase swirl separation technology to realize the separation of oil-gas-water three-phase separation,and introduced its research status.Double cone oil-water hydrocyclone used for separate oil and water has obvious effect,the inner cone hydrocyclone is beneficial to the gas separation.Based on above,oil-gas-water three-phase hydrocyclone wih spiral structure was designed.The geometrical model of a three-phase separation hydrocyclone was formed,and the grid size sensitivity was performed using SolidWorks and a computational fluid dynamics software Fluent.Modeling scheme was determined and model was achieved.Structure parameter of hydrocyclone was divided into two parts,the first separation part of external and the second separation part of internal(conventional double cone oil-water hydrocyclone model),through a single factor method to determine the internal separation of second part in the study.,The structure of the external separation was optimized by orthogonal means,after that,Influencing degree and rules of geometric parameters,include area of gas phase overflow outlet,insertion length of gas-phase overflow pipe,the length of the spiral structure,the height of the spiral structure,number of thread,on the separation efficiency were studied based on the orthogonal table.At the same time,velocity distributions,pressure drop distributions,gas phase volume fraction distributions,oil phase volume fraction distributions were studied by contrast original structure and optimized structure.The influence of operating parameters on the spiral structure three-phase separation cyclone was studied.The main operating parameters,including the flow rate,the gas-phase split ratio and the oil-phase split ratio,are optimized by numerical simulation.Velocity distributions,pressure drop distribution and the volume fraction distribution of the gas and oil were analyzed.Experimental scheme was designed.Effect of no spiral structure,cross-sectional shape of the spiral structure,inlet flowrate,gas-phase overflow split ratio and oil-phase split ratio on water-phase overflow outlet pressure,gas-phase and oil-phase separation efficiency were analyzed based on joint action of experimental and numerical simulation of a spiral structure three-phase hydrocyclone.
