Research On TAML Level 6 And Level 4 Multilateral Junction

Multilateral technology has been recognized as an important approach to boost hydrocarbon. Six levels are catergorized internationally for multilateral technology according to difficulty in completion. However, level 4 or less is applied extensively and cemented at window but level 6 has seen few cases due to high cost and not well-developed system.Taking liaohe oilfield as an example, heavy oil and hard-to-recover reserve account for more than 70% of total reserve. It is imperative to upgrade completion level for production. This paper presents the duplex steel with good plasticity, yield strength of 450MPa which meets the requirements of holding pressure 20MPa and 30% percentage of bed-expansion.According to Faupel formula, level 6 multilateral junction has been made of pipes with a diameter of 133mm and wall thickness 8mm for both main and lateral. The mechanical and scaling test proves its excellence, and provides a reference to develop higher level completion.The improved sealing structure for level 4 system resolves not effective sealing. Anti-rotation design eliminates the risk of rotation during the operation, and new deflector makes the procedures simple, promote the prospect.
