In this work, four coordination polymers, namely [Fe2(L)(OH)(DMF)]·[OH](1),[(CH32NH2]2·[Mn3(L)2(H2O)4]·2DMF(2),[Ni2L(teta)]·2DMF·H2O(3)and [(CH32NH2]·[CuHL]·H2O(4),based on a novel dicarboxyl-functionalized Schiff base ligand,1,2-cyclohexanediamino-N,N’-bis(3-methoxy-5-p-carboxyphenyl-diazo-salicylidene)(H4L)and neutral ligand 5,7,7,12,14,14-hexamethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacylotetradecane(teta),have been synthesized. In complex 1,L4-anions linked Fe3+ ions into a unique binuclear double chain.Hydrogen bonds connect the chains into a two dimensional supramolecular layer. In complex 2,Mn2+ cations are bridged by L4-anions to form a layer. In complex 3,Ni2+ ions are held by L4-anions and teta ligands to yield a chain. In complex 4,HL3-anions are linked Cu2+ ions to frunish a dimer. The dimers are further linked by hydrogen bonds to form a supramolecular layer. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy,X-ray powder diffraction and UV-vis spectroscopy. In addition, the adsorption property on dyes of complex 2 has been studied. The result shows that 2 has efficient adsorptions on methylene blue, gold orange II and neutral red.
