By removing the medial tread’s material of the arch zone in the ordinary jogging shoes, this research designed a new type of jogging shoes—the negative arches’shoes—to simulate the physical structure and biomechanical character of the foot arch at the barefoot state. In this dissertation, the Qualisys motion capture system, the F-scan plantar pressure measurement system and the Kistler three-dimensional measuring platform were used to test the walking and jogging performances of 20 students from the Physical Education College of Beijing Sport University under three conditions:barefoot, wearing the negative arches’shoes and wearing ordinary jogging shoes. By evaluating and comparing the parameters on the aspect of kinematic, kinetic, plantar pressure and balanceable characters of the lower limb, the influence negative arches’ shoes placed on the objects’athletic ability can be found and the feasibility of this idea can be appraised.The main conclusions of the present study were as follows:(1) The negative arches’shoes won’t place any negative impact on the subjects’technical structure during the sports.(2) The negative arches’ shoes, in a certain extent, shows better shock absorption performance; by increasing the metatarsophalangeal joint activity, reducing the resistance of tread during stretching, provides a more swift and more powerful stretching. The advantage of negative arches’shoes’shock absorption performance is more obvious during a more intensity sports.(3) When wearing the negative arches’shoes, the plantar pressure distribution is closer to the barefoot state during sports. The negative arches’shoes reduce the impact the foot suffered as a whole. By increasing the contact area and contact time of the toes, metatarsophalangeal joints and the heel, a portion of pressure is redistributed from the smaller partition to a larger contact area and partition, so that the distribution of plantar pressure is more evenly. There was no excessive partial pressure placed on the foot, especially on arch position, so it can avoid foot injury and increase the comfort.(4) The dynamic and static balance won’t be affected significantly when wearing the negative arches’shoes. Although in some indicators, the negative arches’shoes show a lack of stability in a certain extent, the removal of outsole materials may be the important reasons of such a instability. The future commercial products should be improved in this aspect.(5) The results have confirmed that the concept of the negative arches’ shoes has the possibility to be launched as a commercial product after further improvement and perfection. |
