With the light weight,high specific strength,good corrosion resistance,good formability,well weldability and other advantages,Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy is getting more and more attention from scholars and technicians in the fields of aerospace,national defense industry and weaponry.Its successful application in the field of military defense has also aroused widespread concern in the automotive industry,such as automobile industry,more and more auto parts and vehicle frame has gradually started to try this new type of aluminum alloy.The rotary forging process is a rotary forming process forging by continuous local plastic deformation of workpiece to obtain the required shape and size,forming suitable for thin plate and flange parts.It has the technical and economic aspects advantages of labor saving,material saving,small shock and vibration noise,high precision products and less investment,which has been rapid development and wide application in vehicles,machinery,electrical instrumentation and light metal industry.In this paper,a new Al-Zn-Mg-Cu cup deformation was explored combination of rotary forging process.Firstly,Deform-3D software was used to simulate the forming load of the cup by three forming schemes.The results showed that the load of cup forming by rotary forging is 1/4 by extrusion and 2/5 by PT respectively,which prove the rotary forging process has the obvious effort saving effect.Then,the forming process,the distribution of equivalent strain field,melt flow,the change of section mesh,the distribution of deformation zone and damage field were analyzed.The result showed that there are three stages in the rotary forging of the cup,and the equivalent effect is M type gradient,the damage value of the rotary forging cup is small and the cup's forming effect is good.What?s more,on different height-diameter ratio and forming temperature was also simulated,which obtained that the optimum height-diameter ratio was 1 and the initial temperature is 390?.Based on the simulation,the physical experiment for cup of different height-diameter ratio and different forming process was developed,experiment results showed that cup formed in rotary is better than that in extrusion and PT not only in microstructure but also in mechanical property.Finally,combined with the rotary forging forming cup?s problems,CEC blanking process was creatively put forward,which made the material?s plastic significantly improved,microstructure and mechanical properties were also bigger optimization.Through a series of research,The cup that meet the requirements was successfully developed process.Combined with practical problems,Cyclic Extrusion Compression was creatively put forward,which lay a solid theoretical and practical basis for the subsequent manufacturing of the Al-Zn-Mg-Cu cup to deal with the higher requirements of service conditions.
