With the expansion of application range of optical materials,traditional high refractive materials,such as halogen,organic metal polymers,epoxy resins and other materials,cannot meet the current application requirements.Almost of these materials have low thermal stability,poor light transmission,compatibility and the potential harm to the environment.In recent years,polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes?POSSs?have attracted much attention,because they have excellent optical properties.Reported POSS-based high refractive materials generally have excellent characteristics of refraction and light transmission,but its their thermal stability and compatibility and other aspects are still flawed,limiting their application range.In this thesis,a new type of multi-functional POSS monomer was designed and synthesized,and a new type of POSS siloxane polymer with high refractive performance,excellent thermal stability and solubility was prepared under mild reaction conditions and simple purification process.This new POSS siloxane polymer compensates the shortcomings of reported high refractive POSS polymers.First of all,we prepared POSS monomer with assymetric structure?Janus POSS?,which one side is a Si-H bond,the other side has two parallel siloxyl groups,from double decker POSS tetraol.Then,a new kind of POSS siloxane polymer was synthesized from the Janus POSS under mild conditions,catalyzed with B?C6F5?3.This new kind of POSS siloxane polymer has one Si-H bond at one end,meanwhile,the other end and the side groups are hydroxyl groups.Finally,we studied the performances of this POSS siloxane polymer,by a series of instruments such as spectral ellipsometer,UV-Vis spectrometer,thermal gravimetric analysis?TGA?and differerantial scanning calorimeter?DSC?The data show that we have successfully synthesized a new kind POSS siloxane polymer with high refractive index,excellent thermal stability,good compatibility,and adhesion.
