Pesticides play a pivotal role in modern agricultural production.Among them, pyridyl ethyl benzoamides pesticides is to become a hot topic in recent years. The fungicides have the advantages of novel structure, unique mechanism of action, broad spectrum of sterilization, high efficiency, low toxicity, low residue, high activity and environmental protection, then they have great development space.Fluopyram is a new type of pyridyl ethyl benzamide fungicide developed by Bayer Crop Science, which was first registered in the United States in 2010 and can be used to control the various diseases of more than 70 crops,Both use or mix showed higher activity.Fluopyram is a promising variety of fungicides, agricultural production in China will have a broader application prospects. This dissertation is focused on process research synthesis of fluopyram. In this paper, the synthetic methods of fluopyram and its key intermediate o-trifluoromethylbenzoyl chloride was described and compared in detail, and a new process suitable for industrial production was explored.Fluopyram was synthesized from 2,3-dichloro-5-trifluoromethylpyridine and methyl cyanoacetate via nucleophilic substitution, dealkoxy carbonylation, cyano reduction, and amidation with the intermediate o-trifluoromethyl benzyl chloride. The total yield was 51.4% and the content was?95.8%.The intermediate o-trifluoromethyl benzoyl chloride was synthesized from o-trifluoromethyl chlorobenzene via grignification, acid, acid chlorination reaction. The process synthesis route is short, easy to operate, high yield and high purity, which is suitable for industrial production. The chemical structures of fluopyram and its partial intermediates had been characterized by ~1H-NMR.
