Coumarin Schiff base is a class of coumarin functional group formed by coumarin derivatives which is containing an amino group and active carbonyl aldehyde, ketone dehydration condensation , and ultimately contain -C = N- double functional groups of compounds. The N atom on the -C = N- double bond on the coumarin Schiff base compound can provide lone pair electrons, which can coordinate with the transition metal or rare earth ions, and the formed complexes are stable and has good properties. These complexes have a very good application and prospects in the catalytic activity, biological activity, analytical chemistry and many other fields , so now become one of the hot of coordination chemistry.In this paper, nitro-containing coumarin compounds were obtained by nitration on the 4-hydroxycoumarin ring, and then -NO2 was reduced to -NH2, then reacted with O-hydroxybenzaldehyde derivatives to obtain four coumarin Schiff base compounds H2 L1?H2L2?H2L3 ? H2L4 ?H2L1 =3 - [?5-dichloro-2-hydroxy-benzylidene?-amino]-4-hyd roxy-benzopyran-2-one,H2L2=3-[?5-dibromo-2-hydroxy-benzylidene?-amino]-4-hydroxy-be nzopyran-2-one,H2L3=4-hydroxy-3-[?2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-benzylidene?-amino]-benzopyra n-2-one, H2L4=4-hydroxy-3-[?2-Hydroxy-4-methoxy-benzylidene?-amino]-benzopyran-2-on e?.The ligand reacts with the metal, by natural evaporation method, six complexes were obtained,respectively [Ni2?L1?2]?1?,[Zn2?L1?2] , 2DMF?2?,[Zn?L1? 4,4'-Bpy]n?3?,[Ni2?L2?2]?4?, [Cu4?L3?4]?5?, [Mn2?L4?2]?6?.
