Phenyl-methyl silicone oil can be applied to many areas of national life and production because of its lubrication,high transmission rate, high refractive index, good thermal stability, resistance to high and low temperature and resistance to radiation characteristics.High viscosity phenyl-methyl silicone oil with features and benefits as the current high-end application products of phenyl-methyl silicone oil, defense, life sciences, aerospace and other high-end with good prospects can not be replaced by low viscosity dimethyl silicone oil.At present,most of the products are made by blending different viscosity phenyl-methyl silicone oil,the quality and application of these product is bad.Therefore, the preparation of high viscosity and viscosity controllable with phenyl-methyl silicone oil has great value of the development and application.The research on preparation and principle of the high viscosity methyl-phenyl silicone oil which are methyl-phenyl cyclotetarsiloxane system,octaphenylcyclotetrasiloxane system, condensation system and chlorosilanes system by phenyl-methyl cyclotetarsiloxane, D4, octaphenylcyclotetrasiloxane,and diethyl ether dimethyl Silane, methoxy diphenyl silane as the main raw material to meet the requirements of high refractive index and high transparency, high viscosity and viscosity control were carried out in this paper.The application properties of phenyl-methyl silicone oil were studied, and the technologies of high viscosity and viscosity control were solved especially.Factors of influence as preparation system, and raw materials ratio, and reaction time, and dosage of end capping agent , and volatile removal process of viscosity,transparency, refraction rate and the other performance of high viscosity phenyl-methyl silicone oil have been researched to determine and optimize the process.Structure,viscosity, transparency and other performance of high viscosity phenyl-methyl silicone of this four systems have been tested and compared in this paper.Results show that for octaphenylcyclotetrasiloxane system and phenyl-methyl cyclotetarsiloxane system, the way of adding the ending capping agent has a great effect on the viscosity.It can be well controled by adding the ending capping agent when the viscosity of system increased very quick.The viscosity decreases with content of end capping agent increasing; the refractive index decreases with D4 content increasing; the transparency can be improved effectively by removing volatile matter. For condensation system, the refractive index increases with diphenyldimethoxysilane content increasing; the viscosity of silicone oil increases with the time of condensation increasing within 2 hours; the viscosity appeared to be stabilizing over 2 hours. Compared to the octaphenylcyclotetrasiloxane system and phenyl-methyl cyclotetarsiloxane system, the heat resistance of phenyl-methyl silicone oil prepared by the condensation system is better, the viscosity-temperature coefficient is smaller.As the exposure time increase,viscosity of phenyl-methyl silicone oil is increased.Phenyl-methyl silicone oil with greater refractive index,the viscosity of time rate of change of ultraviolet radiation is greater.The molecular weight distribution of silicone oil which bought in the market is the most wide and the molecular weight distribution of phenyl-methyl silicone oil prepared by the condensation system is more narrow.
