Silicone rubber (SR) has good thermal stability, chemical resistance, environment stability over a vast temperature range, excellent hydrophobic and good insulated properties. Silicone rubber is widely used for high temperature applications, due to the high thermal stability and resistance to oxidative degradation. This paper aimed at developing a kind of good heat resistance SR with excellent comprehensive properties, and studied the factors which affected the properties of high temperature vulcanized SR by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and scanning electron microscope (SEM) and so on.The paper chose the methyl-phenyl-vinyl silicone as foundation silicone rubber, A,O and M etc were chosen as heat stabilizers of silicone rubber. The results indicated that the best heat stabilizer of methyl-phenyl-vinyl silicone rubber was A&M. By means of TGA, A&M was better than other heat stabilizers in improving the thermal stability of HTVSR. The methyl-phenyl-vinyl silicone rubber with A&M additives had good heat resistance, the tensile strength could retain about 2.0MPa after 400℃×15min heat aging. The influences of the content and surface modification of fumed silica on properties of HTVSR were studied. Fumed silica of surface modification could improve process property. The mechanical properties of SR improved obviously with the increase of fumed silica content, while the thermal stability of SR became worse with the increase of fumed silica. The properties of HTVSR changed with the content of vulcanized agent and tear-resistance agent.
