Several kinds of organic gelators with different structural characteristics were designed and synthesized in this paper.And the relationship between structure and properties were investigated systematically.Also the influences of solvent and dopant to the self-assembly process were investigated.Moreover,we introduced photoluminescence to the organic gel system by doping lanthanide ions to the gel.Specific studies and conclusion were as follows:?1?Two glutamic acid based gelators with different lateral groups of carbobenzoxy or diphenyl phosphate group,Glu-CBZ and Glu-DPA,were synthesized.The properities and self-assembly mechanisms of these two gels were investigated and influences of several factors to the process of self-assemble of gels were revealed.The results indicated that solvent-solvent,gelator-gelator and solvent-geltor interactions had an impact influence on the thermal stability and microstructure of gels.The steric effect of lateral groups arised because of an increase in the number of benzene rings from carbobenzoxy to diphenyl phosphate group,which made the density of self-assembled driving forces of Glu-DPA lower than Glu-CBZ,so that the thermal stability of Glu-CBZ was stronger than Glu-DPA,and the networks of Glu-CBZ was more consummate.And also the Glu-DPA had choose to arrange in a cubic packing way which got more free volume for two benze rings,while Glu-CBZ arranged in a hexagonal packing way.In the dynamic process of rheological tests,the shear action was induced which provided enough energe to break the non-covalent bonds to leave reactive open ends with dangling coordination and hydrogen bonds.Also the probability of molecular motion was increased,and the Glu-DPA got more active sites because of one more benze ring,which can made the rebirth of more denser networks which can result in better mechanical strength and self-recovery abilitiy.?2?Chiral factor AZO-CC was added into the glu-cbz and Glu-DPA gel systems to study the influence of dopant on the morphology of gels.The results showed that the adding of AZO-CC can made the self-assembly structure of glu-cbz and Glu-DPA in toluene spiral.?3?A novel cholesterol based gelator was synthesized which contained a terpyridyl group.Two coordination gels?CHO-TPY/Eu,CHO-TPY/Tb?were prepared by doping two kinds of lanthanide ions.We studied the influence of doping of lanthanide ions to the gel.The result indicated that doping of lanthanide ions could introducing metal coordination force between metal ions and terpyridyl group which result in the increase of rheological property and orderly degree of self-assembly structure of gel system.?4?We also studied the fluorescence property of CHO-TPY/Eu and CHO-TPY/Tb.The fluorescence emission spectrum of these two gels showed typical transitions peaks of EuIII and TbIII.And we got a serious luminous gels of different colors by adjust the proportion of the two lanthanide ions.When EuIII: TbIII=1.6:1,a near white light emission gel was formed.It can exploited for solid state lighting and sensing applications.
