In this paper,an inorganic coating-chemically reactive enamel(CRE)coating applied to the surface of rebar is studied. This paper mainly deals with five aspects of the research, specifically refering to coating design, macrostructure and micro-structure observation, interfaceing bond-slip test, coating ductililty test and corrosion test.According to the coating design, six groups of formulations were set up.The surface of the coating is complete without cracks.By the SEM observation, the pore area ratio of the coating was controlled to about 28%in a single specimen and the thickness proportion of the coating decreased to 33.3%.The pull-out test showed that the coating can improve the round steel bar/concrete bond strength by 2 times, and did not significantly reduce the rebar/concrete bond strength.According to the tensile test of the coated rebar,it was found that the optimized cooperative strain could reach 2000 u ?.Before the steel reaches the yield strength, the coating does not produce significant cracks. The 163 days of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and the linear polarization resistance(LPR)test showed that the coating can significantly improve the corrosion resistance. With the difference of coating producting process, corrosion resistance is also different.
