Glazing oil has been widely used in printing products.It can improve the gloss of printed matter and then add the aesthetic value of the printed matter.Due to accord with the requirements of environmental protection,waterborne glazing oil has become the mainstream in the polish market products.There are also many advantages in acetylenic diol gemini surfactants such as lower dynamic surface tension,excellent wetting,defoaming property and so on.They have been applied in aqueous system products,but their low solubility in water limits their further application.In this paper,maleic anhydride was used to graft acetylene diol gemini surfactants DDTM to get some modification of the acetylene diols surfactant R-DDTM.Based on surfactant complex principle,a ternary compound emulsifier system was obtained by mixing R-DDTM the zwitterionic surfactant BS-12 and anionic surfactant SDS.Styrene-acrylic emulsion was synthesized under the ternary emulsifier system.The performance of the styrene acrylic emulsion was optimized by orthogonal experiment method,and styrene-acrylic emulsion with a core-shell structure was synthesized later.In the end the waterborne glazing oil with high gloss was resulted by compounding the core-shell structure emulsion with alkali soluble acrylic resin.The research contents are as follows:(1)Partly modified acetylene diols surfactant R-DDTM was prepared by esterification reaction,and the influence of the bound acid agent,extraction solvent,reaction time on the effects of maleic anhydride grafting rate was discussed.A ternary emulsifier system with anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS),zwitterionic surfactant dodecyl dimethyl betaine(BS-12)and self-made modified surfynol surfactant(R-DDTM)were obtained.The results show that under temperature of 65?,reaction time at 4 h,50%maleic anhydride grafted rate were obtained,and critical micelle concentration of separated pure R-DDTM was measured to be 4.5 g/L,the minimum surface tension reaches 36 mN/m,and its HLB value was 23 by Davies method.The surfactant compound results show that when the mass ratio of SDS:R-DDTM:BS-12 = 12:8:5,the critical micelle concentration for mixed system was 1.53 g/L and the minimum surface tension reaches 27 mN/m,indicating that there were strong synergic effect between the three surfactants.(2)A ternary emulsifier system was applied to the preparation of styrene-acrylic emulsion.Compared with styrene-acrylic emulsion performance in SDS emulsifier system and SDS/BS-12 emulsifier system,styrene-acrylic emulsion prepared in a ternary emulsifier system shows lower viscosity,smaller particle size and better monodispersity.The formed film of core-shell styrene-acrylic emulsion exhibits excellent water resistance and higher gloss.Optimization of styrene acrylic emulsion was conducted by orthogonal experiment method.The results show that when the amount of emulsifier was 5%,the amount of initiator was 0.5%,the amount of the buffer was 0.3%,the amount of acrylic acid was 2%,the amount of crosslinking monomer was 2%,monomer conversion can reach 99%,the resulting styrene acrylic emulsion has a viscosity of 29 mPa.s,latex particle size is measured to be 160 nm by DLS and PDI is 0.064.The formed film of core-shell styrene-acrylic emulsion exhibits higher gloss,excellent water resistance and lower water absorption.(3)Styrene-acrylic emulsion with a core-shell structure was synthesized based on conventional styrene acrylic emulsion.The micrographs,structure and performance of core-shell styrene-acrylic emulsion were characterized by TEM,FT-IR,DLS and DSC techniques.Experimental results show that the styrene-acrylic emulsion prepared in the ternary emulsifier system takes on an obvious core-shell sphere structure with mean latex particle size of 100 nm and good monodispersity.The styrene-acrylic emulsion with a hard core-soft shell structure has good film-forming properties and excellent stability when prepared under a mass ratio of core to shell at 1:1,and shell-forming reaction temperature at 80?.The formed film of core-shell styrene-acrylic emulsion exhibits excellent water resistance,low water absorption,high gloss and good transparency.(4)Waterborne glazing oil was obtained by compounding different molecular weight of alkali soluble acrylic resin with core-shell structure styrene-acrylic emulsion.The experimental results show that when the mass ratio of Soluryl 20 to Soluryl 70 was 3:1,the mass ratio of styrene-acrylic emulsion to liquid of acrylic resin was 7:3,the resulting waterborne glazing oil exhibits high gloss and excellent performance.
