PAFC?polyaluminum ferric chloride?has been widely used in water purification and wastewater treatment as a kind of inorganic polymer flocculamts.PAFC has two-sided advantage including aluminum and iron,and thus it has became the hot research and topic because it has many characteristics such as high efficiency,strong stability,wide raw material sources,low price and etc.In this paper,the modification of inorganic flocculant PAFC with the application of Mn increased the cationic activity and improved the flocculation efficiency.PAFC would be made with the preparation method of doping manganese chloride and controlling the basicity by dripping the solution of NaOH in the mixture of aluminum chloride and ferric chloride.1.The optimum preparation conditions of modified PAFC were as follows: the mole ratio of aluminum and iron was 4:1,the reaction temperature was 25 ?,the basicity was 2.0 and the mass fraction of Mn was 15%.The product that was prepared had ideal flocculation effect and wide range application of pH value.2.The product was characterized with TEM,IR and XRD,the inorganic flocculant had optimal structure and performance when the basicity reached 2.0.The product had strong flocculating ability on account of regular structure,big specific surface area and high content of Alb.When applying to the wastewater treatment,the product had ideal flocculation effect relatively;the low residual aluminum content in the wastewater had followed the national standards.Through the research of Al-Ferron hourly complexation reaction kinetics,it followed the principle of first-order reaction kinetic mode and build the equation:[Al?t?]=0.1+0.067*(1-e-0.060t)4.The application of PAFC and its compound with PAM was studied in this paper.When the coal washing wastewater of angang was treated with the compound technology,the turbidity ramoval rate increased more than 60%.The mothed had improved the flocculation effect and enhanced the performance greatly.5.The turbidity removal rate of coal washing wastewater from angang could reach 97% with the technology of enhanced coagulation,the turbidity removal rate of wastewater increased 2% compared with the combined process only around 95%.
